I love this beautiful Thai house, built entirely by teak wood by Jim Thompson, an American architect/volunteered soldier in the early 1940s. He loved Thailand, built this fascinating house and all its garden. It is now a museum which housed all his beautiful collections of sculptures, porcelain, paintings and other collectibles.
Photography was not allowed inside the house, but his pieces of collections are indeed beautiful, which I wished I could share.
JimThompson also gained worldwide recognition for his success in rebuilding the silk industry, for generating international demand for Thai silk and for contributing to the growth of the silk industry.
During the Easter weekend in 1967, Jim Thompson disappeared while on holiday with friends in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. An extensive and extended search failed to reveal any clues about his disappearance.
The museum has a restaurant too. My sisters and I have thoroughly enjoyed the food. Mango sticky rice was yummy.
